This story is a tragedy. The tragedy of a little girl named Annie Durand.
Her parents mistreat her. She has no friends at school. Her life is miserable.
Then one day Annie discovers the truth. She isn't human. She's an alien from Venus. Her real name is Dolores Delaflori. Her parents had to abandon her because she was a princess and her life was in danger.
That explains everything. Her mean parents aren't her real parents and Dolores doesn't understand the world because she isn't from Earth!
Of course, it was all in her head but Dolores didn't care. To her, it was the real reality.
As she grew up, she lost hope that her “real parents” would come for her and take her to Venus. Dolores became a depressed teenager. She began having outbursts at school, acting violently, and telling everyone that she was an alien.
Dolores doesn't want to keep “her secret” to herself anymore. She even lost her temper over pronouns! Dolores doesn't want feminine pronouns anymore. No more ‘‘she/her’’ - they have to say ‘‘itey’’ and “thingu” when referring to her fragile self!
Thus teachers, psychologists and even child protective services got involved. The abuse she suffered at the hands of her parents came to light. Dolores was then placed in a foster home.
Although her new parents are kind and want to do everything they can to help her, they refuse to go along with her delusions, which upset Dolores Annie. She keeps running away.
As the police arrest her and take her home for the seventh time, Dolores tells them loud and clear that she plans to commit suicide. Taking the threat seriously, the officers advised her parents to keep a close eye on her at all times.
Despite their vigilance, they found Dolores Annie dead in her bed. She had downed an entire bottle of sleeping pills.
At her funeral, her foster family mourns this confused teenager, broken by a life of torment. They also asked why no one was willing to help her.
“Dolores Delaflori didn’t exist but Annie Durand did - and the whole world abandoned her!” Said the mother in tears.
“We must do everything we can to bring broken people back to reality,” said the father. “Before it’s too late.”
